The funding comes from the American Rescue Plan that Congressman Horsford helped to pass in March 2021. The funding will provide: $2,634,123 to the Nevada State Service Commission (Nevada Volunteers) to increase living allowances, stabilize Nevada's AmeriCorps program, and expand AmeriCorps opportunities over the next three years. $38,401 to NyE Communities Coalition's Partners of Prevention Program in Nevada's Fourth District and $93,066 to the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation. This funding can be used to increase AmeriCorps living allowances, stabilize existing programs, expand service opportunities, and make service more accessible and inclusive. "As Nevada rebounds from the pandemic, dedicated AmeriCorps volunteers are working to make sure every community is included in our recovery," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "Seven months ago, I fought to pass the American Rescue Plan and bring billions in pandemic relief back to Nevada.
