The school, located in Mechanicsville, was one of six Maryland public schools to receive the honor. I congratulate the administrators, teachers, staff, and students at White Marsh Elementary for their hard work, exceptional accomplishments, and dedication to education that has earned them this special honor as a Maryland Blue Ribbon School, said Congressman Steny Hoyer. Im proud that White Marsh Elementary has particularly excelled in Maryland and nationwide requirements in the areas of math and reading. I am encouraged that the work being done at this school will serve as a model for schools around the state in order to ensure that we are closing achievement gaps and opening pathways for success to all students.
