First, President Trump foolishly instituted an across-the-board hiring freeze on the federal workforce. Only after seeing the severely negative consequences of this action did the Administration reverse the policy. Now, reports indicate that the Administration seeks to freeze the pay of the people who contribute to our nation, including those who provide health care to our veterans, make sure our food is safe to consume, and keep our communities safe. President Trumps relentless attacks on federal employees only make it harder to recruit talented individuals to serve their country and demoralize our workforce. This proposed action is unacceptable, and our federal employees deserve better.
