The meeting covered vital issues such as education equity, Black maternal health, Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs, federal funding for the Francis Scott Key Bridge, and more. The meeting was the group’s first Congressional Delegation meeting on Capitol Hill and followed the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference in D.C held the week before. Maryland has the largest Black caucus of all state legislatures in the country.
