Hudson. “Congratulations to this year's winners from Lee County High School for their innovative app design, and thank you to all of our region’s students who participated in this year’s competition.” Below are the winning selections for North Carolina’s 9th District: 1st Place: Erik Mejia, Jose Martinez Lopez, and Juan Gomez from Lee County High School in Sanford. ClassConnect, an app designed with the primary goal of enhancing the efficiency of student grouping for teachers, ultimately improving collaboration and social interaction. 2nd Place: Jy'Mir Fuller from Jordan-Matthews High School in Siler City. An app designed for a local small business to streamline services for increased customer convenience. The Congressional App Challenge was launched by the U.S. House of Representatives to encourage student innovation and engagement in computer science and STEM.
