It goes further than House Democrat's current proposal, which already leads to a decrease of over 60 new breakthrough medications according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office," said Rep. Hudson. "Do we want to risk finding cures for diseases including Alzheimer's, Cystic Fibrosis, or Childhood DIPG? As a member of the Health Subcommittee and Healthy Future Task Force, I will continue to fight to expand access to cures and prescription drugs through common sense, free market proposals." Today, the Biden administration released a detailed plan to address prescription drug prices. The plan expands upon House Democrat's proposed H.R. 3, a drug pricing scheme that will limit new cures from coming to market. In August, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office determined the proposal would lead to 61 new medications not being developed over 10 years. Instead, Rep. Hudson is a cosponsor of H.R. 19, the Lower Costs Mores Cures Act. This legislation includes bipartisan reforms to lower out-of-pocket spending, protect access to new medicines and cures, strengthen transparency, and champion competition.
