Congressman Jack said, “I am honored to announce Hope Ivey from Newnan High School as the winner of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition. Her success continues a long legacy of accomplishment at Newnan High School, from academics to athletics. Hope’s artwork, “Honored Heart”, honors her uncle’s service and sacrifice during the War in Afghanistan, and it will now be prominently displayed in the United States Capitol, inspiring the millions of Americans who visit the Capitol each year.” Georgia’s Electric Membership Cooperatives (EMCs), the travel sponsor for the Competition winner, said, “As the electric membership cooperatives serving Georgia's 3rd Congressional District, we are proud to once again sponsor the 2026 Congressional Art Competition. We sincerely thank Congressman Jack for his dedicated service to our district and for providing this inspiring annual opportunity for our students. Supporting both the winning student and their teacher as they travel to Washington, D.C. for the national awards ceremony reflects our cooperative spirit and ongoing commitment to the communities we serve." The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982, and over 650,000 high school students across the country have participated in the program since its inception. Students submit entries, and a panel of district artists select the winning artwork.
