Even with a fix for separated families at the border; a more generous documented status for Dreamers, but not for the adults who brought them in; and a tough new plan for border security, today's vote on the immigration bill failed to garner a majority. This is extremely unfortunate as it was the second time in two weeks a reform bill came to the floor only to be defeated by misplaced opposition. The opportunity for genuine immigration reform is a fleeting one, and it's too bad we missed this opportunity to work with the Administration on a bill that I believe addressed most of the concerns that were being raised. ### f t # e | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
