Interest costs are exploding from record debt and that's why I was glad to support a Budget Committee blueprint that not only balances in ten years, but gets tax reform going in order to encourage economic growth and deliver a tax cut for the middle class. “However, I do believe we should do more to enhance accountability over all federal spending moving forward. My Defense Spending Accountability Act to audit the DOD helps to do just that. You can read it here. The budget balances within 10 years by addressing spending, reforming government, and growing the economy. The budget produces a $9 billion surplus in FY2027, and achieves $6.5 trillion in total deficit reduction over 10 years.
