Congressman Smith said, “Last year’s tornado completely destroyed Perryville High School, causing students to attend classes in tents and temporary buildings ever since. I saw the destruction firsthand and it was absolutely devastating, but the resilience and solidarity this community showed in the aftermath blew me away. Day after day, neighbors showed up for neighbors to help each other out and make sure no one had to deal with this disaster alone — that’s what Southeast Missouri is all about. “I was proud to fight to deliver this funding and ensure this community can rebuild a high school that they’re proud of.
