The bipartisan bill to protect children now has 31 cosponsors. It's encouraging to gain more support for the JUSTICE Act. This bill is a commonsense solution to a deeply disturbing, real world problem. Childlike sex dolls are being used by sick pedophiles and predators as practice, so we need to ban these items immediately. Real children and families are being impacted by this disgusting behavior like we have seen in recent news reports. The JUSTICE Act will safeguard our precious children and their likeness, and I am hopeful we can get a vote on this important piece of bipartisan legislation. Background: The JUSTICE Act adds child-like sex dolls to the already legally defined list of banned obscenities that cannot be imported into the United States or transported across state lines. The penalty for violation under that section of law includes up to 5 years in prison per offense. Most of these items are manufactured in China and shipped around the world. These items are already illegal in Great Britain and Australia. Similar legislation passed the House of Representatives unanimously in the 115th Congress. South Carolina Senator Katrina Shealy plans to author similar South Carolina specific legislation in the General Assembly. Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee have banned these items. A national ban is supported by Attorneys General Jeff Landry (LA) and Herbert Slatery III (TN). Groups supporting include the Stop Abuse Campaign and the Child Rescue Coalition. Read H.R. 4150 HERE.
