He issued the following statement on this year's agenda: "As we move into 2021, it is important to prioritize what is best for families. My legislative priorities for this year begin with defeating the pandemic by working with the South Carolina government to improve testing and ensure fast access to a safe vaccine. A vaccine that has been achieved at a historic rate with the leadership of former Vice President Mike Pence leading Operation Warp Speed. As we continue to recover, I will also work to help small businesses maintain jobs. This year's agenda focuses on creating jobs and economic growth by protecting ‘Right to Work' laws in South Carolina and advocating for current and future missions at the Savannah River Site. "This year more than ever before it is important to promote conservative, limited government solutions. This year's agenda includes supporting a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution and supporting our police. As a Senior Member of the House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees, I will continue to promote peace through strength and ensure the security of our country, strengthen alliances for information and medical resource sharing, and support military families. "A special issue for me is to continue the elimination of the ‘Widow's Tax' which will assist military families with DOD and VA benefits of $5.7 billion reinforcing our support for the military which keeps America a free country.
