Elizabeth has demonstrated success both in and outside of the classroom and has fostered a strong desire to serve our nation and her fellow American." said Congressman Joyce. "The service academy appointment process is incredibly selective and competitive. Elizabeth's appointment to West Point is a testament to her many years of hard work and preparation." All prospective students wishing to attend a service academy must by nominated by a Member of Congress or another U.S. official and then are rigorously evaluated by the service academies, which determine appointments.
