Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona, PA will receive doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine this week. The Moderna vaccine received emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday evening. The Van Zandt VA Medical Center will soon join other area hospitals in administering our region's first doses of the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine. "With the arrival of a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine to the Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Pennsylvania veterans and their health care providers will be better protected against the threat of this virus.
