He is working to address rising health care costs, including the skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs, and the need for greater access to high quality health care. "As I travel throughout Middle Tennessee, I had the opportunity to speak with many people who are worried about the future of our nation's health care," said Representative Rose. "Our local health care centers work tirelessly to provide treatments and services to our communities; however, hospital closures continue to be a problem in our area. I will continue to fight to keep providers in our rural communities and secure the best health care for all Tennesseans by lowering health care costs for hardworking families, all while expanding health care choices. Representative Rose toured Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Putnam County, met with local leadership and representatives from UT Medical Center concerning a future health care facility in Fentress County, and conducted the inaugural meeting of his Sixth District Community Pharmacy Advisory Council aimed at supporting independent community pharmacies throughout Tennessee. U.S. Representative John Rose is currently serving his second term representing Tennessee's Sixth Congressional District and resides in Cookeville with his wife, Chelsea, and their two sons, Guy and Sam. The Sixth District includes Cannon, Clay, Coffee, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Smith, Sumner, Trousdale, White, and Wilson counties as well as portions of Cheatham and Van Buren counties.
