The award recognizes Members of Congress who vote in support of legislation for America's farmers, ranchers and agriculture producers. In the 116th Congress, Representative Rose has taken bold action to protect the agriculture industry in the Sixth Congressional District, including: Voting in favor of the bipartisan United States Mexico Canada Free Trade Agreement (USMCA), which will increase agricultural exports to the world by $2.2 billion. Cosponsoring the Agricultural Fairs Rescue Act (H.R. 7883) to provide support to agricultural fairs for losses sustained due to COVID-19. Cosponsoring Real MEAT Act (H.R. 4881) to ensure that consumers can make informed decisions in choosing between meat products such as beef and imitation meat by ending deceptive labeling and marketing on non-meat products. The American Farm Bureau Federation's "Friend of Farm Bureau" is given to those individuals who have supported Farm Bureau issues, as shown by their voting records, and who were nominated by their respective state Farm Bureau and approved by the Board of Directors of the American Farm Bureau Federation. The voting records were based on priority issues selected by the American Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors. U.S. Representative John Rose represents Tennessee's Sixth Congressional District and resides in Cookeville with his wife, Chelsea, and their son, Guy.
