"Countless farmers, small business owners, and job creators in Middle Tennessee have called, written, and met with me to express their strong support for USMCA," said Rep. Rose. "I stand ready to cast my vote in support of its ratification and this step forward for all those pursuing the American dream in our Tennessee communities." After more than a year of waiting, Speaker Pelosi announced today that she will allow a vote for ratification of the USMCA. It was 375 days ago that President Trump first signed the agreement with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto on November 30, 2018. Since then, Rep. John Rose welcomed Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Purdue to Middle Tennessee to visit Tennessee workers impacted by the agreement. The USMCA received bipartisan support last November and is expected to be ratified with overwhelming bipartisan support when the vote is held. "As a farmer and small business owner myself, I know how important President Trump's modernized trade agreement is for our workforce in the 21st Century," Rep. Rose stated. "Tennesseans are tired of partisan gridlock. Moving forward on USMCA is exactly what Congress should be doing. I will continue advocating for the swift passage of this strong, bipartisan deal that will benefit the people I represent in Middle Tennessee."
