Trump and voted against both articles of impeachment. "I stand with the vast majority of the people of Tennessee's Sixth District in strongly supporting President Trump," said Rep. Rose. "Today demonstrated what we knew all along: there is not bipartisan support for impeachment. In fact, the only bipartisanship we saw today was in votes cast against articles of impeachment." The House of Representatives voted on two articles of impeachment against President Trump. The first vote considered charges of an "Abuse of Power," and it passed 230-197-1. The second vote was held on an "Obstruction of Congress," which passed 229-198-1. As he had previously committed, Rep. Rose voted "no" on both. No Republican voted in favor of either article of impeachment. "This impeachment process has been an embarrassment to our country, an insult to our Constitution, and a distraction from the real work Congress should be accomplishing for the American people," Rep. Rose stated. "I trust Senate Republicans will handle this matter judiciously and expeditiously, acting in good faith on behalf of the American people. I hope the House will return to the people's business and pass meaningful policy, like ratifying the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), before recessing for the holidays."
