Jones (NC-3) continued his defense of 2nd Amendment rights and voted for H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017. Introduced by Congressman Richard Hudson (NC-8), H.R. 38 would allow a qualified individual to carry a concealed handgun into, or possess a concealed handgun in, another state that allows individuals to carry concealed firearms. “I have long supported reciprocity for concealed carry permit holders,” said Congressman Jones. “Law-abiding gun owners should never lose their 2nd Amendment rights just because they crossed state lines.” H.R. 38 passed the House with a vote of 231-198, and now heads to the Senate for further consideration. Congressman Jones has been a consistent voice on behalf of gun owners, and has opposed legislation that seeks to chip away at the constitutional rights of Americans.
