https://jordan.house.gov/media/press-releases/jordan-announces-grant-bellefontaine-fire-department Jordan Announces Grant for Bellefontaine Fire Department 2009-05-07 2009 2009-05 Republican House OH Jim Jordan J000289 jordan.house.gov jordan https://jordan.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper Washington, DC -- Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) announced today that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has approved a $109,108 operations and safety grant for the Bellefontaine Fire Department. "This announcement is outstanding news for Bellefontaine," Jordan said. "These funds will help the city's first responders be better prepared to fight fires and save lives." Jordan notified Chief James Holycross of the grant by telephone today. The funding is made available through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program, through which DHS will award roughly $500 million to fire departments and other emergency responders across the nation this year. More than 20,000 funding applications requesting a total of $3.1 billion were filed in the current grant round. Since the program's inception in 2001, more than $9.9 million has been awarded to fire departments in Ohio's Fourth Congressional District. Bellefontaine received $166,320 in AFG Program vehicle acquisition funding in 2004. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T21:14:27Z
