Stephanie brought genuine passion to her work as a representative of the people of Cleveland--her lifelong home. Her tireless advocacy on behalf of her constituents was an example to all members. Her ten years in Congress were preceded by nearly two decades of service as a county judge and later as county prosecutor, where she honed skills that made her such an effective advocate for urban issues in Congress. While Stephanie and I were often on opposite sides during House Floor debates, we worked together seamlessly on many issues of paramount importance to our state. I was honored to stand with her many times in support of Ohio's defense sector and the numerous jobs it supports. The experience she brought to these efforts was invaluable. Polly and I offer our deepest sympathy to her son, Mervyn, and all of her family and friends. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T21:14:27Z
