This Rural Development investment will be used to help offset the costs associated with constructing a new facility, purchase of new processing, and manufacturing equipment, and climate-smart equipment. The new facility is projected to increase fertilizer production by 279% by 2027 with enough product to support 832,000 acres of approximately 4,000 end user farmers. The total project cost is $8,630,701, with $4,695,101 provided by Growers Mineral, and the remaining balance coming from this major USDA Rural Development FPEP grant award. “I am thrilled to see these dollars coming back home to help farmers in Erie County and across Northwest Ohio,” said Rep. Kaptur. “As a senior member of the House Appropriations Agriculture Subcommittee, I have long fought for more investment in our farmers and growers across our region, and I continue to do so every single day in Washington.
