Kean and Sherrill Fight for a New Vet Center in Morris County 2023-02-16 2023 2023-02 Republican House NJ Thomas H. Kean, Jr. K000398 kean.house.gov kean https://kean.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper Contact: Dan Scharfenberger (February 16, 2023) Morris County, NJ — Representatives Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) and Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) joined NJ SOS Veterans’ Morris County Veteran Stakeholder meeting yesterday morning alongside Catholic Charities at Hope House in Dover to announce their introduction of the Vet CENTERS for Mental Health Act, which would expand access to Vet Center mental health counseling across a wide breadth of American communities, including Northern New Jersey. Sherrill and Kean on the importance of this issue, click here. Vet Centers provide a range of lifesaving services to veterans and their families with proven effectiveness. This includes mental health counseling for combat veterans, those who suffered military sexual assault, and additionally they provide bereavement services to families of service members who are killed while on duty. This commonsense legislation leverages recent Census data as well as the VA's own statistical data to identify areas where expanded Vet Center access is needed in currently underserved, high-population states. Northern New Jersey is one of those underserved areas. The Congressmembers are fighting for a new Vet Center in Morris County. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T23:18:08Z
