Kelly opposes Democrats' massive $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill 2022-12-23 2022 2022-12 Republican House PA Mike Kelly K000376 kelly.house.gov kelly https://kelly.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) voted against the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending package, citing concerns about the overall cost to taxpayers, the lack of border security funding, and the limited time to review and hold hearings on the 4,155-page bill. "We had just days to review a bill that's more than three times the size of the Bible and costs taxpayers more than a trillion dollars. Although there are some good parts to the bill, overall, I cannot support spending taxpayer money without thoroughly reviewing everything that's inside," Rep. Kelly said. "Democrats control both chambers of Congress and the White House, and still could not pass this bill on time. Voting "no" isn't irresponsible. The way our government rushes to spend taxpayer money without critical oversight is irresponsible. The American people deserve better." BACKGROUND 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T03:32:05Z
