This funding responds directly to some of the most pressing needs in Silicon Valley. Rep. Khanna also worked to secure $459 million for regional tech hubs in the CHIPS and Science Act, $42 million for implementation of the Department of Defense's Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response Action Plan, and $300 million for the National Labor Relations Board in the spending bill that passed the House and Senate. "I am proud to have secured $24,351,000 in Community Project Funding in this bill to strengthen education, housing, public health, infrastructure, and our response to climate change in California's 17th District," said Rep. Ro Khanna. "I'm grateful to have worked alongside my colleagues in the South Bay to include these investments that will create good-paying jobs and benefit our community for years to come. The bill includes funding for programs in the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act to lower costs for working families across America. It also gives the National Labor Relations Board the first increase in funding since 2014 to help protect workers' rights. Finally, it sets aside significant funding for reducing civilian casualties in U.S. military operations, including $17 million above the amount authorized in the National Defense Authorization Act."
