KIHUEN REMEMBERS VICTIMS, JOINS SURVIVORS IN CALLING FOR HEARING ON BUMP STOCKS ONE MONTH AFTER LAS VEGAS SHOOTING 2017-11-01 2017 2017-11 Democrat House NV Ruben Kihuen K000390 kihuen.house.gov     legacy REPRESENTATIVE RUBEN J. KIHUEN REMEMBERS VICTIMS, JOINS SURVIVORS IN CALLING FOR HEARING ON BUMP STOCKS ONE MONTH AFTER LAS VEGAS SHOOTING f t # e Washington, November 1, 2017 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 1, 2017 Contact: Miguel R. Salazar, 202-225-9894 Adrian Boafo Press.Kihuen@mail.house.gov Video can be viewed here  WASHINGTON, D.C  – Today, one month after the tragedy in Las Vegas, Congressman Ruben J. Kihuen held a press conference with Members of Nevada’s Congressional Delegation and survivors of the shooting to remember victims and call for action to prevent gun violence. Representative Kihuen, along with fellow Nevada Representative Jacky Rosen, also sent a letter to the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Bob Goodlatte, calling on him to hold a hearing and examine the use and legality of “bump stocks”.   “Today marks one month since the horrible tragedy in Las Vegas in which 58 people lost their lives and more than 500 were injured when a gunman opened fire on a crowd of concertgoers. This was the worst mass shooting in modern American history but we have yet to see any significant action from Congress to prevent gun violence. As Members of Congress, we have a solemn responsibility to protect our citizens and ensure that another mass shooting like the one in Las Vegas never happens again. We owe it to the victims and survivors of this heartbreaking and heinous attack to thoroughly examine why these devices are sold legally and are readily available in the United States. It would be a grave mistake for Congress not to take action to prevent a similar massacre in the future.” ### Kihuen.house.gov - Facebook - Twitter   f t # e 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
