During the hearing, Members of Congress heard powerful testimony from the father and full-time caregiver of Retired Sergeant Eric Edmundson. Sergeant Edmundson was gravely injured in the line of duty and now requires round-the-clock, life-sustaining care. Yet the VA has failed to provide the level of compensation needed to support his needs, forcing his family to shoulder an overwhelming financial burden.
