My Rural Airport Infrastructure Support Act (H.R. 6448) passed unanimously, helping eligible airports access a reduced local match for federal airport improvement projects. The Committee also advanced the Post-Disaster Protection Act (H.R. 8409), which I introduced with Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL), and Rep. Mike Ezell (R-MS). The bill would give disaster survivors 90 days, instead of 60, to appeal FEMA assistance decisions. This is especially important for the CNMI, where our families and communities continue to navigate the challenges of disaster recovery. The Committee’s work also included measures to strengthen maritime cybersecurity oversight, improve drone and aviation safety, support emerging aviation technologies, and increase transparency in federal real estate.
