The bill directs the SBA to create standardized templates for disaster loan outreach materials, and to create a mechanism for the SBA to verify and evaluate outreach materials published by its field offices. A May 2026 Government Accountability Office report found inconsistencies in SBA’s disaster loan outreach materials. Depending on which field operations center handled a disaster, some materials did not include updated information, including changes to mitigation loan limits and deadlines. Our bill aims to fix that by ensuring SBA maintains centralized updated examples disaster operations centers can draw from and ways for the SBA to verify their materials.
