The Members of Congress who signed this letter did so on behalf of the innocent people of Syria who have been brutally murdered under the Assad regime and Russian airstrikes. This letter calls on the President to hold Assad and Putin accountable for the brutality they are committing and to reinvigorate faith in America's commitment to seeking justice for the victims. Rather than trying to negotiate with our enemies like Vladimir Putin, we need the President the Commander-in-Chief to the most powerful nation in the world to stand up and act, said Rep. Kinzinger. We owe it to the innocent people of Syria to bring justice against the Assad regime, Russian military, and their allies and help the struggling people of Syria.
