After introducing the bill, H.R. 4591, the Preventing Iranian Destabilization of Iraq Act of 2017, Congressman Kinzinger and Congressman Suozzi released the following statements: “For decades we have witnessed the true intentions of the Iranian regime when it comes to the United States of America, and our freedom-loving allies around the world. With their tyrannical and nuclear ambitions, the Iranian regime has sought to sow chaos across the Middle East, continuing to prop up murderous dictators and actively work against us. It’s important to remember that a quarter of the American soldiers killed in Iraq were killed because of Iran. “I’m proud to introduce this legislation and send a strong message that we will not tolerate the destabilizing efforts of the Iranian regime when it comes to the Government of Iraq.
