The Continuing Resolution that passed the House will allow for the government to operate at current levels through January 19, 2018. The House also voted on the Emergency Disaster Aid Package to help ongoing recovery efforts from the recent hurricanes and wildfires. Following this final vote of the year, Congressman Kinzinger released this statement: The responsibility of the legislative branch is to fund the government. Today, I voted in favor of the Continuing Resolution (CR) that would fund the government, and keep operations running. This CR package includes funding for the CHIP program and the Veterans Choice program, and bolsters our missile defenses and provides for much needed repairs to our Navy ships. I voted in support of this much-needed and important measure because it allows our government operations to continue at current levels, and extends funding for programs that are critical to the American people and the security of this great nation.
