Archbishop Fulton Sheen's legacy runs deep in central Illinois, and it is fitting that 100 years after his ordination he will be beatified in the Catholic Diocese of Peoria. I applaud Bishop Daniel Jenky and Archbishop Fulton Sheen's family for their incredible efforts to see his body returned to Saint Mary's Cathedral, and I am grateful to His Holiness Pope Francis for approving Sheen's beatification.
