This powerful committee plays a critical role in shaping national priorities, and overseeing funding for essential areas such as defense, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and more. To effectively manage its vast responsibilities, the committee is divided into 12 specialized subcommittees, each focused on a distinct area of federal spendings, such as defense, homeland security, energy and water development, or transportation.
