The House of Representatives will vote on the Conference Report tomorrow. Congressman Lamborn, ranking member of the Readiness Subcommittee and a core conferee on the Conference Committee, issued the following statement: "It has been an honor to once again serve as a core conferee for the NDAA Conference Committee. This is a solid defense bill, which continues the process of modernizing our military against current and future threats posed by our near-peer competitors, including the creation of a Space Force. It includes a much deserved 3.1% pay raise for our troops, a topline budget of $743.3 billion, and a great deal of funding that will go towards space and missile defense programs in our community. It provides $322 million in construction for the Pikes Peak region.Of that,$148 million isauthorized for a Combined Space Operations Facility on Schriever Air Force Base, which will provide the next generation space command and control center for our space warfighters and intelligence community. The CSOF will solidify Colorado Springs' position as the home of Space Command and the preeminent defense space community in the nation. It also provides $54 million for a SOCNORTH support facility on Peterson Air Force Base, $49 million to consolidate the cadet prep school dormitories at the Air Force Academy, and $71 million for a company operations facility on Fort Carson. As the representative of Colorado's 5th Congressional District, one of my core constitutional responsibilities is toprovide for the common defense. I know so many in our community share this priority having served themselves. I look forward to voting YES on this bill tomorrow. I am excited to have been a part of its creation and passage."
