https://lamborn.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=1842 Put Veterans First, Not Washington 2016-11-14 2016 2016-11 Republican House CO Doug Lamborn L000564 lamborn.house.gov     legacy Put Veterans First, Not Washington f t # e Washington, November 14, 2016 Congressman Doug Lamborn supports the efforts of Concerned Veterans For America to prevent the passage of the Veterans First Act during the lame-duck session of Congress. I am opposed to the U.S. Senate's Veteran's First Act. This bill preserves the existing Merit System Protection Board and allows disciplinary proceedings to drag on for 120 days or more. Additionally, the bill would remove all caps on tax-payer funded bonuses for VA employees. This is premature until and unless meaningful accountability measures for VA employees who actinappropriately have been put into place. The lame duck session of Congress is no time to try and ram through a flawed and convoluted bill. Veterans must come first, not the status quo of Washington. Once President-elect Trump and the new leadership in the VA and VA Committees are able to work together in January, we will see real reform that will place the needs of veterans ahead of the desires of the entrenched bureaucrats who have failed our heroes. - Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05) For more information, read about Congressman Lamborn and Rep.
