Both grants were awarded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a total of $1,447,000. “County Road 48 connects our community to schools, farms, businesses, and other essential services —we must maintain this critical infrastructure in order to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents," said Congressman Langworthy. "I’m pleased to announce that the Allegany County Soil & Water Conservation District has been awarded two significant grants from FEMA to address the erosion issues and prevent further damage on County Road 48.
