I was proud to vote for the bipartisan, bicameral appropriations bills today funding the federal government through the rest of the fiscal year. Today's appropriations bills provides funding for top priorities in the First District, from continuing to strengthen our manufacturing sector to funding critical research programs National Institute of Health (NIH), and tax relief for volunteer first responders. While this legislation provided critical funding for many programs important to Americans, it wasn't perfect. I was disappointed by the inclusion of funding for the President's needless border wall and hope we address this in the new year.
