Lawrence (MI-14) will lead a march to the office of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to hand deliver a letter with the Democratic Women's Caucus (DWC) and the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC). The letter urges Senator McConnell to act on House-passed legislation that benefits women and their families. As the Co-Chair of the Democratic Women's Caucus, I implore Senate Majority Leader McConnell to bring to the Senate floor legislation that includes the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, the Paycheck Fairness Act, and the Raise the Wage Act just to name a few, said Congresswoman Lawrence. His failure to act denies our senators the opportunity to consider these critical pieces of legislation which is an affront to women and families across this country, added Congresswoman Lawrence. The letter of request has been signed by 82 women members, several of whom will participate in the trek to the senate immediately following votes (estimated between 1:00pm-1:30pm).
