The Boehner Plan passed the House of Representatives by a narrow margin of 218-210. Congresswoman Lee released the following statement: It is shameful that the Republican Party continues its drive to plunge our nation into default and our economy over the brink. And the bill that Speaker Boehner has unveiled today does exactly just that. Trying to balance the budget on the backs of the poor is morally wrong and economically bankrupt. We should not be wasting the American people's time and pushing our economy to the brink of a catastrophic crisis with legislation that we know is going nowhere.
