Lee expressed disbelief that the Bush administration continues to meddle in the inspections, even though under UN Resolution 1441, the Bush administration agreed to allow inspectors to return to Iraq. "It was the Bush administration who introduced the Security Council resolution that called for the inspectors to go back into Iraq," Lee said. "So what is the Bush administration afraid of?" In particular, Lee suggested how premature the complaints are. In a process that may last several months, and is to date barely a week old, "the Administration seems to have given up on it. They say we can't trust Saddam Hussein. Well, the inspections were never about trust they were about science and verification. They were about seeking out and destroying any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. That can't be completed in a week." Lee insisted that the Bush administration should do more by doing less. "Let the inspectors do their job," she implored the White House.
