Congresswoman Lee and Secretary Duncan will engage educators in a discussion about the current successes and challenges they face and how initiatives advanced by the U.S. Department of Education can assist in improving student achievement. Merritt President Robert Adams will provide an overview of the Maximum Achievement Program (MAP), with students sharing their experiences on how the program has helped them meet their academic goals. Congresswoman Lee and Secretary Duncan will be made available to the press at the conclusion of the roundtable discussion at 10:45 a.m. Congresswoman Lee and Secretary Duncan will then visit Longfellow Middle School, 1500 Derby Street, Berkeley, for a brief tour and a meeting with students and faculty.
