Peggy and I worked closely together over the years, and I always appreciated the dignified manner in which she approached her craft and her ability to capture the issues that were of great importance to the community that she covered. Peggy was a voice for the residents of the East Bay, a probing columnist who, over the years, developed a loyal following of readers that cross racial boundaries.
