I have the privilege of serving a vibrant and dynamic community of Latinos who live in my 9th Congressional District of California. Their record of achievement in every facet of our richly diverse community is truly remarkable. For generations, Hispanic American intellectuals, writers, artists, workers, activists, teachers, entrepreneurs, and leaders have enriched our nation as they worked to achieve the American dream. As a member of the Tri-Caucus, which is made up of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), I am a proud and vocal advocate for the Latino community and all communities of color who will benefit from our efforts to expand opportunity and promote prosperity for all. It is with gratitude that I honor Hispanic Heritage Month, and with excitement I anticipate the future strides Hispanic Americans will make for our nation.
