Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) released the following statement today announcing that the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has awarded three grants totaling $273,302 to support projects in the 9thCongressional District that exemplify extraordinary standards in educational research: These grants are extremely competitive and are awarded to groups that are engaged in educational projects that meet NEH's exceptionally high standards. I couldn't be more pleased that these groups have been awarded the grants that will allow them to pursue their important projects. The Oakland-based Friends of Peralta Hacienda Historic Park was awarded a $175,302 grant to support its project, titled: Spanish, Mexican, and American California: Reframing U.S. History at the Peralta Hacienda.
