U.S. Representative Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02) today applauded the 3-person team from Egg Harbor Township High School for winning the 2018 Congressional App Challenge. Their submission - Flashcards with Friends - is a mobile application designed to help students quiz themselves in preparation for school exams. Video of the winning app is available here. Congratulations to Leo, Vicky and Alex for their innovative and educational app. It is clear they were looking to assist their fellow students in preparing for exams now and in the future. I was impressed by the substantial thought and execution displayed in this app, said LoBiondo. I applaud all of the students who participated in this year's Congressional App Challenge and encourage you and your classmates to continue creating forward-looking technology. The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide competition aimed at encouraging middle and high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications for mobile devices. The Challenge seeks to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education while spurring friendly competition between competing teams. Thirty-six (36) teams comprised of 106 students across South Jersey competed in the fifth annual challenge. This is the fifth year of the Congressional App Challenge and the fifth year LoBiondo's office has hosted the competition for South Jersey students.
