Under this standalone legislation, eligible Coastal Virginians would receive a second economic impact payment (EIP) of $2,000, up from $600. This legislation also retroactively fixes a flaw in the first round of economic impact payments, which excluded non-child dependents from receiving economic relief. Throughout this public health emergency, I have heard from families throughout Coastal Virginia that they are struggling and need additional economic relief, said Congresswoman Luria. Tonight, I voted to increase direct economic impact payments to families throughout Virginia because Congressional support must match constituents' needs in order to quickly recover from this economic crisis.
