After the President signed the defense bill, Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (KS-02) released the following statement: “I applaud the President for dropping his partisan stance and signing this critical bipartisan defense bill into law. The National Defense Authorization Act will increase troop pay and benefits, strengthen our national defenses and require the President to create a comprehensive strategy to defeat ISIS. Additionally, the NDAA prohibits the President from transferring Guantanamo Bay detainees to the detention facilities in the United States, such as the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth.
