This empty, short-term Republican spending package leaves out any relief for DREAMers, underfunds veterans services and efforts to combat opioid abuse, and gives the Childrens Health Insurance Program just three more months of life instead of the long-term security our kids deserve. I do not believe in shutting down our government but I cannot support another short-term funding patch that is nothing more than kicking the can down the road when we should be doing our jobs now.
