Rep. Mann released the following statement after the attacks: “America must unequivocally stand with and support our strongest ally in the Middle East, Israel, “ said Rep. Mann. “For nearly a year, Iran and its terrorist proxies Hamas and Hezbollah have terrorized Israel, killing Israelis, launching missiles into Israeli territory, and holding innocent Israelis hostage after the October 7 attacks. “No nation would tolerate this barbaric terrorism from neighboring countries, and neither should Israel. The world cannot afford for the Biden-Harris Administration to continue its weak appeasement strategy toward Iran or its waffling between standing with Israel and pleasing progressive activists. It hasn’t worked for the past three and a half years, and it won’t work now. The Biden-Harris Administration needs to make it clear now more than ever that the U.S. stands with Israel and that there will be severe consequences for any nation that harms our ally and friend.” In May 2024, Rep. Mann voted to advance the Israel Security Assistance Support Act. In April 2024, Rep. Mann supported the Israeli Supplemental Security Appropriations Act. Following Iran’s unprecedented direct attack on Israel, Rep. Mann criticized the Biden Administration’s appeasement of the Iranian regime. In December 2023, he also voted to freeze the $6 billion in Iranian assets that the Biden Administration reversed in September of that year. In the aftermath of the October 7 attacks, Rep. Mann voted yes on legislation stating that America stands with Israel as it defends itself in the war launched by Hamas and supported the stand-alone Israeli Security Supplemental Appropriations Act to bolster Israel’s defensive capabilities. Rep. Mann has consistently voted to urge Hamas to immediately release hostages taken during the October 7 attacks and to reaffirm the state of Israel’s right to exist. Rep.
